Blog Assignment #1: Introduction

Aloha! My name is Ann-Marie Crystal New.
I grew up in a military family in which I am the oldest girl of the seven children under my father. I love my family and would do anything for my siblings. My older brother, RJ (short for Rodney Jr.), is so by a year and ten days. He loves to joke for those ten days and say that he is two years older than me. Next, I have a step-brother, Charles, who is fourteen and is just about all that one would expect someone of his age to be. Cassidy "Tank" is nine. He loves everything military and has so since he was first born. He has been counting the days until he is old enough to enlist. Cherokee Skye is the only other girl in the litter. Although she is only eight, she is the toughest, most brilliant person I have ever been blessed with the ability to know. She is a self-proclaimed shoe person and has the clothes and long legs to be a supermodel. Dominic just turned seven and is the quiet one of the family. If it wasn't for the fact that he isn't big enough to make his own food throughout the day, one could easily forget that he is in the house. And finally, John is nine and a half months old. Since he is a baby, I won't tie him to any of his recent characteristics. "Drooling and sleeping all day" doesn't sound like the most flattering way to describe a loved one.
As one could guess, I moved around a bit throughout the years. But my father's family has made their stand in Pensacola for generations. I was lucky enough to be born there in the same hospital as my father. To date, the one place I have lived throughout the years that I would love to go back to raise my own family would have to be Georgia.
I am presently going to the University of South Alabama as a Mathematics and Secondary Education Mathematics double major. The reason I chose South is because is located between Citronelle, Alabama, where my father is living, and Pensacola, Florida, where most of the rest of my father's family is living. I have decided that since I can't join the military, for certain medical reasons, I want to one day teach on military bases around the world. Since it is not only a constant universal in all countries but also a personal favorite of mine, I have decided that I wish to teach Mathematics.
On a side note, I am a very basic, minimalistic person. I love my family and live my life for them. I believe that with Christ all things are possible and durable. I trust in the hard times that He has delivered these trials to better us and guide us through this world and into the next. I want not for the worldly things, for I can not hold these trivial objects in my heart. I long for the happiness of my family and the betterment of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Aloha po!
